Welcome to my blog!

It’s been a crazy year for us all. Stopping and starting at life since March 2020. By law, my practice has had to close for each lockdown, causing frustration to my clients and leaving me endless time on my hands to ask some major life questions - personally and professionally. And I suppose if I’m thinking positively, for that time I am grateful.

In keeping my mental health healthy I've thrown myself into planning what the future of Heal Therapies looks like, creating all the back office processes and putting systems in place that I just kept putting off.

And first up is my blog. It makes sense; I’m constantly reading books on personal development, self-help and the health industry... and a blog allows me to share little gems of newfound wisdom… well caring IS sharing! So to kick my blog off, I thought a proper introduction to me, as Jane, as a certified reflexologist and founder of Heal Therapies was a good place to start!

Where it all began

Since my early 20’s my career has been in digital marketing and I’ve always gravitated towards the heady culture found in marketing agencies. Fast-paced and exciting, with opportunities for progression yours for the taking in exchange for blood, sweat and tears. The downside however was far more ferocious - consistently high-stress levels, a bucket load of drama to manage daily and the most narcissists in any given sector (pure speculation on my behalf!).

I discovered the benefits of reflexology after suffering a running injury (believe it or not I have attempted to be a runner!!). At the time I put the debilitating pain I was suffering down to the injury, but the longer the pain went on and being told by several specialists that they could no longer help me, I realised that my body was not able to naturally heal. I then came across reflexology, and like a lot of my clients, I had no idea how powerful this hands-on therapy was going to be. After only a few reflexology treatments my pain became manageable - subsiding for weeks at a time. A shift in my well-being was occurring at long last!

After such a positive experience I was inspired and began my training with the Yorkshire School of Complementary Therapy, qualifying with an ITEC Diploma in Reflexology. I have such a passion for reflexology down to the results I see with my clients on a daily basis. It’s the most incredible and fascinating therapy I’ve ever come across.

I’ve continued to develop my skills, qualifying in specialist areas such as:

  • Stress-related illness

  • Preconception and fertility

  • Maternity; pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period

  • Menopause

  • Lymph drainage (RLD)

  • Facial reflexology and most recently

  • Zone Face Lift

Where we are today

A lot of people are finding that their mental health has been affected as a result of the pandemic and three national lockdowns. Sleep patterns are erratic, anxiety levels heightened, with energy levels plummeting and motivation completely out of the window.

That’s why so many people are turning to reflexology

Through reflexology, I help people bring themselves back into balance; mentally, emotionally and physically. Encouraging deep, restful sleep, calming the mind and allowing space to lower stress and anxiety levels, increasing energy levels and naturally bringing motivation to the fore.

As a result, people feel more in control of their health, their wellbeing and their life.

Over the 5 years I’ve been in practice, I’ve helped hundreds of people to overcome their issues. People who suffer from disturbed sleep, stress, PTSD, anxiety, migraines, physical aches and pains, unexplained fertility issues, even unknowingly perimenopausal women. By putting themselves first and listening to their bodies they are nurturing themselves back to good health. I welcome everyone from all walks of life to the Heal Therapies practice and genuinely care about the unique challenges my clients face, taking the time to get to know them, their lives, and their goals.

When you book your reflexology treatment you’re taking positive action towards a better you, a healthier future, living the life you deserve. I hope to see you soon at Heal Therapies, Harrogate.

NB To be transparent I always like to remind my clients that reflexology is not a substitute for medicine, it's a complementary therapy that can significantly improve your quality of life when undertaken regularly.
